3 Days Safari to Mikumi & Selous

Explore the Southern Circuit of Tanzania to Mikumi National Park and Selous/Nyerere National Park Safari With 4x 4 Land Cruiser Pop up Roof

Day 1: Dar – es- Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Our driver guide will pick you up from Dar-es-salaam, then drive to Mikumi National Park with a lunch box or short stop for lunch on the way. Arrival in Mikumi at noon then departs for afternoon game drive to explore Mikumi National Park. The park is one of Tanzania’s larger parks and has excellent bird life as well as being good for viewing predators. Leave the park in the time for sunset then transfer to Vamos Hotel for overnight, on full board.

Day 2: Maasai Culture at Mikumi then drive to Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast and seeing the traditional Maasai at 0900hrs drive to Selous Game Reserve.  The journey takes about 7 to 8 hours through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania. Meals and overnight will be at Ngalawa camp.

The day will be spent on game viewing in the Game Reserve and in the evening you will make a boat safari. The safari guide points out rare species of animals like the Wild Dogs. Further more Sable antelopes, black rhinoceros, Nile Crocodiles, hippopotamus along the banks of the Rufiji river. Cape buffalo, hartebeest and Eland also can be seen. Picnic lunch and drinks will be served in the wilderness before heading back to camp for dinner and overnight to the gentle grunting of the Camp. Boat Safaris are also the best excursions for bird enthusiasts. The Selous has over 350 bird species. The river is the place where they congregate in great numbers and are easily seen in the open space of their natural environment. Dinner and overnight at Ngalawa Camp.

Day 3: Walking Safari at Selous and Drive back to Dar es Salaam

Early Morning breakfast at the camp and start a sunrise bush walking. Walking safaris are a fantastic way to get close to nature and learn more about the smaller species and the bush itself. It’s an unforgettable experience to walk within such a vast and untamed area of the natural reserve. The walks are about 2-3 hours long. Usually for walks, we leave camp at 6:00AM-6:30 AM after having a cup of tea and some homemade biscuits or doughnut. After walking back to the camp for breakfast and start your way to Dar es Salaam.
